About

About

The act of coming to the table is both instinctive and profound, an opportunity to seek pause and pleasure in the flow of daily life. For us, true hospitality in this experience begins with the simplest of gestures: a cool glass of water, a comfortable chair, and the promise of something delicious to eat. We work from the belief that meaningful service creates the conditions for genuine enjoyment and intimacy, without complicating matters an ounce more.

Bookings

Congress welcomes bookings online only as we don’t have a phone. Each day we make a number tables available for walk-ins, so if we are fully booked online, just pop in to see us and we’ll do our best to get you a table. For groups of 8 and above we offer our chefs menu that is filled with our favourites plated to share. Please advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. Please click here to make a booking, or for larger groups of 10+ email us at contact@congresswine.com.au and we’ll get back to you shortly.

Events

Congress is available for private events from Tuesday–Sunday. We accept groups of 12–24 sitting, or 40 standing, in our mezzanine area. The entire venue is available for hire on Mondays. For more information, please email contact@congresswine.com.au.

Brutally Early Club

Founded by Hans Ulrich Obrist & Markus Miessen in 2006, the Brutally Early Club is a series of monthly pre-breakfast meetings at 6:30am that provides one with energy for the rest of the day. Currently running in London, Berlin, New York and Paris, Congress will be hosting the first Melbourne meeting in early 2018.
